GRAWL breaks $50K mark

The Greensboro Arm Wrestling League (GRAWL) raised more than $5,200 for the Interactive Resource Center February 29, 2020. That event brings GRAWL’s lifetime total of funds raised for Greensboro nonprofits to more than $50,000.

The fifth season opener raised money for the IRC’s fund to provide for the special needs of local residents experiencing homelessness.

Arm Wrestler Jordan Michael, who competed on behalf of the IRC, won the arm wrestling prize and took home audience favorite. She raised $1,265. In a GRAWL first, judges Jessica Mashburn, Dierdre James and Mark Gibbs chose three best dressed wrestlers: Alexandra Slamilton, Dark Slayer, and UrSLAMya the Sea Bitch.

The event was the second time GRAWL has partnered with the IRC. The organization was GRAWL’s first beneficiary in 2016. The event was GRAWL’s third-highest fundraiser ever.
