The Greensboro Arm Wrestling League is proud to announce that its October 29, 2022 event — the first since a pandemic hiatus — will benefit the nonprofit Youth Focus.
Youth Focus has served the local community since 1971. It serves the most vulnerable youth in Guilford County, who are at-risk, in crisis, have run away, or are experiencing homelessness. Youth Focus provides needed supportive housing solutions and trauma-informed counseling, so youth receive the help they need today to have hope for the future.
Funds raised at GRAWL BRAWL XIV: GRAWLoween will help fund Youth Focus’ Act Together emergency shelter.
Act Together is for male, female, and gender-nonconforming youth ages 11 to 17 who have run away, are experiencing a family crisis, are the victims of abuse or neglect, or are experiencing homelessness for other reasons. Act Together has been a much-needed safe haven for LGBTQ children.
While at Act Together, youth receive safe housing in addition to medical, psychological, and educational support in a home-like environment. The youth attend public school, most often the school they were currently attending, and participate in a wide variety of both on and off-campus recreational, cultural, and social activities.
To attend the event, make a donation directly to Youth Focus today. Hope to see you there!
