MEET THE BENEFICIARY: The Interactive Resource Center

Interactive Resource CenterGRAWL will kick off its inaugural season by raising funds to help the Interactive Resource Center renovate its women’s locker room.

The IRC, located in downtown Greensboro, is a nonprofit organization that assists members of our community who don’t have a place to live. The center offers people a climate controlled place to spend the day, classes and support activities, as well as basic necessities like a place to receive mail and wash laundry. More than two hundred people go through the IRC’s doors every day.

A key service the center offers: a place to clean up. The IRC has three shower stalls – two for men, one for women – which are used almost constantly throughout the day.

The IRC recently upgraded its facilities to include a larger water heater that is capable of serving four showers. As part of its mission to assist local women, GRAWL will dedicate the proceeds from its April 23 brawl to help the IRC fund this critical project.
