Meet the Beneficiary: Guilford Green LGBTQ Center

The Greensboro Arm Wrestling League is pleased to announce we will partner with the Guilford Green LGBTQ Center for the first event of our fourth season, GRAWL Brawl X: Cupid’s Revenge, 7 pm, February 16, at Gibbs Hundred, 504 State St., Greensboro. Buy your tickets now.

The Guilford Green Foundation has been a part of the Greensboro community, raising money to support initiative in the LGBTQ community, for 20 years. In 2018, the foundation opened the LGBTQ Center at 1205 W. Bessemer Ave., Suite 226, to serve as a welcoming meeting space and resource center and to expand the foundation’s mission into programming.

In a short time, the center has already become an important resource for the community, with more than 340 people calling or visiting to seek legal advice, counseling, housing, employment, and healthcare services.

It has also hosted dozens of free programs, such as social events for LGBTQ youth and adults 55 and older and transgender support programs and health seminars. It offers free meeting space for AA and a program seeking to heal families with LGBTQ children who are facing conflict.

The center also has a queer library, which celebrates and elevates LGBTQ-themed books and media.

Help GRAWL support this important resource to the community by attending February 16’s event. All proceeds from ticket sales go to support the center.
